we suffered the first hard drive failure of my life this weekend. turns out there is a defect with some iMac hard drives that cause them to spin until the burn up. thank god for free warrenty/recall repair, time machine, and regular back-ups. -

i won’t bother to announce the winners, because we’d be redistributing trophies, back and forth just about every day for the rest of our lives.

my favorite toy as a kid was g.i. joe F-14 “sky striker” — a plane that i, literally, loved to pieces.just on a whim, i ebay’ed “sky striker” about two weeks ago, and found out not only are they for sale, but hasbro has re-released the sky striker on it’s 30th anniversary. it’s on sale at amazon for $34.
so, now, The Mighty Quinn is the proud owner of a sky striker, though he’s going to have to fight with daddy for the right to take it down off the ceiling and play with it.

we’ve developed a little tradition for sunday afternoons — sparklet and i run out to the hardware store to pick up, well, stuff for whatever is broken in our 97 year old house. she loves the dog. i love getting out of the house. mommy loves sleeping. win, win, win.
