the week began with a orientation meeting with the teachers, a mixer/playdate with the other kids, a school beautification day spent gardening, obligatory school supply shopping, and then — finally — a real first day in the classroom.

looking back, it all went, mostly, without a hitch. couple teary eyes from mommy and papi on the first walk over. two or three days of “i don’t wanna go” at the end of the first full week. but now, she owns the school — and the teachers seem pleased as punch to have her.
