Up in Vermont at my brother’s house for Thanksgiving. For a New Englander trapped in the deep south, it’s nice to see snow when you go back home.
Went up to visit my Godparents in New Hampshire, and we did a driving tour of my parent’s old haunts. My mother’s favorite (“no trip is complete…”) is Nubble Light near York Beach, Maine. Cold, wet, blustery. It was hard to see where the water stoped and he horizon began.
One of my favorite spots in New England is my cousin’s farm house in Rye. It is a wonderfully old structure in a beautifully lush farm plot. Green as far as the eye can see.
we did see a pod of whales. they were beautiful. but when i should have been taking the picture, i was instead hanging on for dear life, trying not to throw up, and watching a dear friend come one hand-hold away from going overboard.
nature is exciting.
i’ve also realized that my point and shoot camera takes crappy pictures in low light. i took dozens, but the only photos that (mostly) came out were of the aquarium’s iconic jellyfish tank.
