baby sparklet: single-handedly crippling office productivity since 2009
|
i honestly believe that i could get a full day worth of child care from my coworkers … just break Sparklet up into 15 minute increments.

humanity, pt 1
|
there are times where i’ve been sad to be a human being, and watching the uneducated, partisan response to the health care bill is near the top.
it’s hard to imagine what’s bad/unconstitutional about:
Is it the mandates to have insurance that is so evil? I’m mandated to subsidize people who don’t have insurance now, through higher premiums and higher taxes. Seems like this is something “anti-everything” white people would be crawling all over themselves to support. Crazy. Source: Bill Summary from CNN; Photos by Matt Dunn, from City Paper. |

video: rollover (!!!)
|
ps. it’s better when you can hear the soundtrack. as an aside, i quickly figured out that she would only rollover when i was *not* in the room, so i setup the camera and hid in the hallway until she flipped. worked like a champ. i guess she must have had performance anxiety.

pretty sure there are a couple of bad things happening in this photo …
|
so, it turns out that sparklet (a) enjoys sleeping on her stomach, and (b) can fit her legs in between the slats in the crib. later in the afternoon, she actually got her leg stuck in the slats, which was vaguely terrifying … but a story for another time.

the mayor of walter pierce park
|
photo of the week // week twenty-three
baby sparklet and i have been playing around with foursquare, a gps-powered social media app that lets people “check-in” to locations, and become “mayor” if you check-in at a place more than anybody else.
well, i’m pleased to announce that sparklet is now the mayor of walter pierce park. i wasn’t paying much attention to foursquare until i saw Wired co-founder John Battelle speak on the future of social media while i was in Salt Lake City. he said that once you became mayor of your grocery store (for instance), you’d be darned if you’d let anyone else be there more than you. he was right. and so, we’ll be back to the park early next week. sparklet’s a benevolent leader, but isn’t going to stand by and let the rest of the tots in the lot move in on her fiefdom. (p.s. i you are on foursquare, you can friend sparklet on her profile, here.) See All the Photos on Flickr:
