Jim and I think that the heavy Scranton emphasis in his vid and speech (and look for it on the road) is meant to swing some PA folks - he is Very PA ( and we should know ) what with the "no working class, we are middle class" thing and the catholic thing etc. Plus he just about had chris matthews in tears on how "his people" were finally getting represented. Love it - between you and Holdie I feel like I am there. RE: we’ve got to lose this “take america back” message … too confusing from a party that keeps talking about moving us forward. Yes! I am not loving that - it sounds to combative for an inclusive/converting campaign ("There is no shame republicans & indies, you can be with us for sanity now even if you kind of messed up in the last couple of elections" is too long for a slogan though eh?) - back = opposite of forward as you noted - there have been sooo many better choices this convention including - "we don't need 4 more years of the last 8 years" (too long), No Way, No How, No McCain (that one works for me), America can do better than that. And Barack Obama will. (like it) and my current fav "John McCain was wrong. Yes! I am not loving that
