I always hated that nickname as part of my name because it was a boy's name. However, on the subject of nicknames, based on my own experience, you might want a name that doesn't have too many. It took me 25 years to chill out about people pronouncing my name wrong. I would add to the elementary school test, "Is there any easy way for bullies to turn the name into a joke about being fat, stupid, or crazy?" It's just cruel to give a child a name that no reasonable adult can spell without assistance.
