Marion Morehouse

The First Supermodel

Marion Morehouse rose to prominance in the late 20s and early 30s, sitting for Vanity Fair and Vogue photographer Edward Steichen. She become one of the first publically known and recognized fashion models based largely on those appearances.

She is perhaps best known as e.e. cummings third wife, whom she met in 1932. Although it is not clear whether the two were ever legally married, Morehouse lived with cummings until his death in 1962. She died seven years later at the Greenwich Village apartment they had shared.
